Profile WIP

Well the next big project that I've got due this coming Friday is one that is using the profile outline of my face that I posted a while back. It's supposed to show what makes me who I am using symbols and imagery representing the different aspects of what makes me tick. The following images are a work in progress of what I've completed so far and at various stages in it's conception.

Here's what I started with when I laid out what I wanted to do for my project. I got the basic shapes of the larger images that I would use to show the main parts of who I am. I'm supposed to chose two colors and any variants in between with white when coloring so I made my color swatches on the left.

Stage 2 of many. I actually started over a few times because I didn't like how I represent the perspective in some of the panels. This was a hell of a lot of work to do considering that I've never taken a perspective class yet and am using some of the basic stuff that was taught in some of my earlier art classes.

Moving on a little further I've got most of the layout done and started to work on the background image to make out my face. The three hexagonal shapes on the bottom left were some of the things that I was considering to use as a way to show my face without any traditional lines. The one that ended up using is the one furthest to the left.

Here is where I am now. It's not quite done, but it looks pretty good for what it is. I have to say that I'm happy with the results so far considering that I haven't had much experience with Illustrator and I got most of it done in two days. Now that might not sound like much, but when you've been working on it up to the wee hours in the night that's a lot of time. Even now as I post this up it's as a break from working on this and if the time doesn't show when I post this it's currently 3:33 AM. Well back to work.

Who am I

Well here's something that I did in class where we were to come up with something that represented who we are. There wasn't any more direction than that and this is what I turned out. This says a few things about me if you were to look closer past the basic shapes. I've got things laid out in numbers. By that I mean each grouping of shapes has a different number of shapes that make the group up. In this image the numbers 1-6 are presented to make up what my personality is.

Art Dump

Been a while since I've uploaded anything. Well here's an update on what I've completed up to this point including my t-shirt design, various types of eye designs, and an outline of my profile.

The first image is of my t-shirt design relating to something comical about being an artist, specifically in this case a painter. The second image is of an outline of my profile with a black fill.

These two eyes are the same eye. The left is made with one stroke from a custom brush and the latter has a mesh for the fill to make it appear chrome like.

Here are three eyes that where I used the same eye then added and removed something from it in order to change the meaning of the original.

The eye on the left was an attempt to find the essence of an eye and the eye on the in the middle is the same eye with a different stroke applied to it to give it a different look and style. On the right is an eye made of only various sizes of one shape.

Drawing and Painting

Here are two figure drawings, one male and one female, that I've done in my Drawing and Painting class.

Drawing and Painting Heads and Hands

Here are some works that I've done for my Drawing and Painting class. These two faces on the left show how I built up a drawing from the rough pencils into a more completed piece with solid and clean lines. (Roughs on the left and final on the right.)

And here is a hand that I've done in the same class where we used a mannequin hand model to draw from.

Wildlife Drawing

Well here are some of my old works that I've completed in my past classes used in my final portfolios. These animal drawings were done for my Wildlife Drawing class.

First Post

This is my first post. Whenever I finish a school project I'll be posting it here.
